Why left hand shouldn't be used when it comes to hindu religion, customs and rites?

I dont think its exclusive to the hindu religeon, the malays are also taboo about using the left hands to give or receive things. Probably its because we use the left hand to clean up ourselves after answering natures calls which makes for somewhat an "impure" culture to give or receive using the left hand. Thats my opinion only.
