The World comes to Malaysia with Global Music Festival
The Botanical Gardens of Penang will host �World Music Festival 2008 � Penang�, welcoming musicians and music aficionados from around the globe, beginning 2 May 2008.
For three evenings, Malaysia will showcase a truly exciting blend of ethnic and culturally-inspired bands, including four Malaysian groups performing with traditional instruments, and international musicians hailing from France, Reunion Island, Mexico, Iran, India, Denmark, Kenya, Tibet, Canada, USA and Croatia.

mirugam, its easy for Penangites like u, but for outsiders like KLites (like me) its not easy due to the distance. Anyway, good info.

well......as i said, i went to this magnificient event....what a performance..awesome...
The group from Ireland was electrifying and our local KL drummers were equally great.Then, there is a group consisting a singer from Rajasthan, flutist from Iran, tabla from France and another guy from Iran too,their music was mesmerising. The best part is a girl who danced with combination steps from Iran, India and France. It was really a "wow".
BUT....throughout the performances i was very worried thinking about the condition of the natural habitants of Botanical Garden....the MIRUGAM must have been petrified with all the noise.
But some were telling that Rainforest World Music Festival is much better, hmmm...my next target then.
Anyone interested..we can go to gether to Sarawak. |
