Pour in your view and experience. Is it acceptable to increase the price of ptrol by 0.78cents?

How much do think its gonna affect your lifestyle?

Definitely this is heading towards inflation. Petrol prices will affect food prices, this prices, that prices.... every other prices, you name it. It will be up. Most business opertaors will be affected also.

There can be challenging time ahead. The price increase of RM 2.70 is only for this month. Come August the price of fuel will be open market price, which means the price will be determined by global price of fuel and there is no subsidy like in the past. Its a good time to use public transport more instead of driving and if you must drive get your vehicle fitted with NGV. It saves alot of money in the long run.

this is an outragous idiotic plan.....i dont understand y we a net fuel importer need to pay that high....

basically when the fuel price goes up the profit is going up too

let's say the production cost is USD$40 per barrel and now it is USD$135 per barrel....petronas is making USD$95 per barrel....still there is a hike in petrol for RM0.78

this is very bad for all the middle and low class citizens

Mad

we are not a net fuel importer panda avergelae....

We are a net fuel exporter. We sell petroleum and pocket the profit. I also dont understand why the extra profit cannot be used to subsidise the petrol. It shoudlnt matter, how high the global price of fuel soars, because the higher it soars the more profit Petronas which is Gohmen owned, makes. The more profit the more subsidy, unless it is going to some other unknown pockets. Shocked

the increase is not justifiable......but the govt has taken it for granted......no matter hw much they increase...stil the ppl re driving....the roads re congested as usual.....the highways are jammed up during festive/public holidays....the sales of cars (especially proton/perodua) stil so good.....

...so why would the govt hesitate to increase....??? they knw tht the ppl stil wil continue what they have been doing.....jz tht they wil grumble a bit in the beginning & then 4get abt it....and eventually get used 2 it...

....i was returning fr png to sban last sat...the highway was full of cars all the way to sban...the rest area parking bays were full....the restaurants were full including the fast foods rest....most of the cars were driven at speeds ranging fr 120-140pkh....

so are msians effected.....??? i hv no answer....do they really change their habits when prices go up ??? maybe im wrong here...hahahaha

Maybe its because the effect is not visible yet. Just wait for it, itll surely come. Its only a few days old. Its just like when you had a nasty fall on the road or hard ground, after a few hours then only the pain will be really "kaw-kaw". Wink

The increase of fuel will affect almost every industry as nearly all business will one way or another involve logistics. Why do think food prices will go up? Its because of the extra delivery charges for the ingredienst due to the high fuel cost will be charged into the cooking ingredients price. That is why consumable items will shoot up like mad.

But the business world is actually interconnected with the gov't and the consumers like this chain.....government-business-consumers-business-government..... which completes the circle.

1. Govt raises fuel prices and will pass the price increase to business owners because business owners will be affected by the rising logistics cost i.e. delivery charges whcih is directly affected by fuel prices.

2. Businesses will need to survive and stay in the market, so they will pass the rising cost to consumers, otherwise they will not have profit. Will cut down employees and implement cost reduction strategy.

3. Consumers will feel the pinch because everything is high priced, will cut down on domestic spending, Crime rates will go high and economy will suffer because of lesser domestic spending.

4. Lesser domestic spending will affect business owners as the high overhead will force some to fold or close shop.

5. If businesses are winding down, Govt will get lesser in taxes. Govt wont have enough tax revenue to sustain govt expenditure. The whole economy will be in recession.

So you see, in the end it will also affect the govt because if the businesses die, where is the govt going to collect tax money from? The rise of fuel price is not a good strategy and can lead to inflation and recession. And that is BAD for everyone.
