I read in the paper today abt a indian man filed a suit in high court seeking declaration that his brother (deceased) was Hindu and not a muslim convert. The tussle goes to High court while the body, 4 days old is in the hospital.

The religious department has no proof, no official documents containing the deceased signature or thumbprints. The department only produced piece of paper with handwritten notes which they claim written by deceased.

I noticed this kind of case always happens to deceased when the family claims the body.....

To solve this confusions and hassle for our fly......do we have to check on our religion status with relevant department for us to do something when we are still alive..? or can we suggest to ppl who convert to make declarations at the time they convert.... like some countries, allows you to advertised in the newspapers your old name and new name... maybe with ur passport size photo...

any comments, any suggestion?????

This is a very good point, please do check your own religeon on the MyKad on what it says. I think you can get a MyKad reader from shops that sell them or you can actually insert it into the Astro decoder (dont know which channel though) and you can read the details it seems. Anyway, the card reader is cheap enough, so just get one.

If you are caught dead and if it is written something else for your religeon, then your bedy wont belong to your family anyomre. The body snatchers will come and get it and no one will have any claim or right.

Dont take this lightly. I once checked my TMnet account and found that they have put me as the nattan's religeon "by default". When I found this out I immediately corrected it. Embarassed

But what if ur IC is ur actual religion and the concerned department has some documents to show that u have converted?

Can u convert without changing ur IC details?

what is the number "01" stands for in ur mykad? On the back portion, where ur new IC number is shown... after your last 4 digit number.

When some people out there is so determined to insult us in anyway they can, we are sort of helpless.

Friends...your astro decoder also works as a MyKad reader...Dont waste money buying a MyKad reader.

No Needto worry...u just visit any of the JPN offices...ask them to print all the details embedded within the Chip.....they will do that for free...then u can have all the information u required

so its an all in all card.....
