Mirg,

that is called "mangga pinji" and gundu....

the thali is the husband..... as a symbol a family must expand with children..the "gundu" is join with that "thali" then followed by "mangga pinji" and the rest.... (nekkika gundu, mattalam, kaasu, nanakola, annapachi etc)

Indian ladies will slowly get the other items and join to their thali.....its a symbol for the family to expand. i.e (children, wealth, happiness, prosperity, food, love etc).

the 'gundu" also meant for baby boy and the "mangga pinji is meant for baby girl. Which means we wish you (god) will grant us a baby boy then a baby girl......

On the baby part ur are only wishing... it all depends on what has been stored for u.

adeeeeeeeeeeee engapa......
ellathekum sakhe poke vechirekangela inthe ladies...lol...
if tht's the case...we...guys have to come up with some...hmmmm....
maybe....if get a increase in pay...we should buy a car....
and hmmm....for every good thing happens...we should modify our car...

Black, how do you determine a woman without pottu if she is married or unmarried? It sounds shameless the way you accuse a woman without pottu... a pottu neva really show if she is sincere towards her husband or not.. i dun use pottu most of the time but i apply kungumum on the upper part of my forehead and on my thali everyday. (am i also in the same category?)

Its for us(woman) to know how much we care, respect and love our husbands. We dont really care about wat ppl think abt us as they are not the one going to feed us at the end of the day. We know how much we worth!!!

Pls refrain yourself from saying women who dont apply pottu are "desperados"

Kutty,

i wear pottu everyday... no matter what i wear... pottu is a must... infact i have changed to a bigger size pottu this year compare to previous years.

I also wear metti everyday..... whatever shoe type i wear... only took it out when i was pregnant..... due to leg swallon.

thali.. no way of taking it out......

This year i've also started wearing bangles..... 1st it was out of fashion.... later i started to like it... and continued wearing it even to work..... Remember ... when we meet... i was wearing the bangles with all colours???? i wear that everyday.

I dun see anything wrong or different wearing a pottu for traditional wear and not wearing it for jeans......or office outfit...... same for the size also.... i dun see anything weird or odd on a lady wearing pottu with jeans or official office/meeting/conference dress code.

i think if u choose a nice standard size pottu... u can wear for whatever dress u r wearing.....

Wearing bangles is neva out of fashion, nitha.. i have a huge collection of bangles.. kan shalu.. we love all the indian stuffs..infact i promote them... i love all indian things.... they are beautiful in every way..
I really cant wear the metti daa... its painful.. i dunno why.. maybe becoz i have to wear my shoes for a long time (10 - 12 hrs)and it cramps my toes... otherwise of course am proud to wear them..... thali noway... i hate seeing married women without them... no matter you are wearing a kodi or a chain just wear themlah.... its symbolized "husbands"... In my previous office i have seen ladies without their thali and pottu.. not young ones; old ones (like those in their 50s) they dun wear thali or even pottu... shalu you also know rite? When they see me wearing my kodi they will say haiyoo you are wearing so big huh.. after kena ragut them only you will know....

well well, no need t be angry here...u seee if u cant even make a effort to put a pottu which consumes about 5-6 mins worst case to symbolize u r married, y bother talking about respect to ur husband if u cant even spend 5 mins to put pottu.....even some case old ppl use to say only widow will be without pottu....so why la girls wanna kill their husband so fast......talking abuot sincere to husband is not a case here.....this about getting over the head when a guys site adikeran u...it is a thrill ill suppose.....

my humble opinion Cool
